Whether you’re having a date night with your favorite person or watching Love Is Blind for the first (ok, fourth) time, a heart-themed manicure always makes the heart-shaped season a bit more fun. So we went out and found some of the best Valentine’s Day nail designs.
There’s red and pink hearts, of course. As well as some Valentine’s Day nail art ideas for those prefer something more unique.
Pick out your favorites and make an appointment at your nail salon to get a set of Valentine’s Day nails that’ll stand out. We promise it’ll be easier than trying to get a reservation at Dorsia.
1. Naughty Valentine Nails
We may be made of sugar and spice, but no one said what kind of spice. Hope you like fennel!
2. Brown Valentine Nails
This Powerpuff Girl-esque heart on these nails is hypnotizing. It’s telling us to eat more chocolate. Oh wait, that’s our stomach.
3. Lovebird Nail Art
We can’t tell if loving someone who looks exactly like you is the ultimate act of self-love, or egotistical. We’ll ask our other half the next time we’re in front of the mirror.
4. Lace Nails
These Valentine nails paint a lace frame around a heart, which essentially makes them coasters. Now all we need are tiny teacups.
5. Love Letter Nail Art
Now that we no longer have to deal with snail mail, we can spend our time sending Valentine memes and trying to recreate these nails.
6. Cupid’s Arrow Nail Design
These are going to look great wrapped around your Starbucks Valentine’s Day tumbler. And a red velvet cupcake.
7. Anti-Valentine’s Day Nails
We can’t tell if these black coffin nails are anti-Valentine’s or very pro-Valentine’s, but they work for all occasions. Except Easter brunch.
8. Glitter Hearts & Flames Nail Art
When you’re so in love that your heart turns flammable. But we do not suggest typing “heart on fire” into a WebMD search.
9. XOXO Pink and Gold Nails
When you’re just not sure which pink and red nail design route to go, choose them all. Same goes for sampling that heart-shaped box of chocolate. You can throw out the cherry cordial one now, though.
10. Powerpuff Girl Valentine’s Day Nails
The fact that these “Drop Dead” gorgeous Buttercup nails are coffin-shaped just adds to their vibe.
11. Pizza My Heart Valentines Day Pink Press On Nails
If your idea of throwing hints is more about “I want pizza” and “please text me more bad puns,” then these press-on pizza nails are your perfect Valentine’s Day nails.
Available on Etsy.
12. Pink Nails with Red Scalloped Tips
We thought scallop designs were about potatoes. Were really disappointed at first. Now we’re just hungry.
13. Kiss a Frog Nail Art
Honestly, we’re good with just keeping the Prince as a frog. He’s much less messy.
14. Neon Pink Heart Nails
With these neon nails, we turned on our heart signal and we’re ready for love. And we made sure to make it not look like the bat signal this time. That was weird.
15. Purple and White Valentine’s Nails
If you’re sick of all the reds and pinks, let us introduce you to the other color of love: purple. Perfect if you vibe with Barney, Ursula, or the Queen of England. Hello, Your Majesty!
16. Pastel Retro Valentine’s Nails
Give this retro-esque design a pastel makeover to make them look more whimsical and romantic. They’re also great for some Lisa Frank role play.
17. Blue Heart Coffin Nail Art
No need to feel trapped by conventional Valentine’s Day colors. These blue heart designs are just as romantic. Especially if you’re a Smurf.
18. Eye Heart You Nails
This design works in case you need to spell it out for someone. Hopefully they speak in hieroglyphics too.
19. Geometric Hearts
As we always say, the bolder, the better. Font choices matter when it comes to speaking our language of love. That’s why we always choose Comic Sans.
20. Classic Lips Nail Design
Pucker up! Just make sure the polish has dried.
