How do you know if you won the second chance Lottery? ›

The system won't let you submit more than 500 2nd Chance codes a month. How will I know if I'm a Lottery winner? If you win, you'll be notified by email to sign into your Lottery account for “important information.” When you log in, you'll be notified about your prize and a link to a 2nd Chance Winner Claim Form.

Prize amounts of $600 or less in red can be cashed at any Maryland Lottery retailer. The approximate overall probability of winning Powerball® is 1 in 24.87.

Throwing your 2nd Chance codes away doesn't disqualify you from drawings, and you don't need your original ticket to claim your prize, but you're ultimately responsible for the 2nd Chance codes you've submitted.

The second-chance game launched in April 2022, and since then, nearly $6 million has been won in progressive prizes, the lottery said. For the most-recent winner of the game, it all culminated in a surreal moment.

Double Play is an add-on feature that gives players in select jurisdictions another chance to match their Powerball numbers in a separate drawing with a top cash prize of $10 million. Players can add the Double Play feature to their Powerball ticket for an additional $1 per play.

Megaplier®

Most states offer a Megaplier feature to increase non-jackpot prizes by 2, 3, 4 or 5 times; it costs an additional $1 per play. Before each Mega Millions drawing on Tuesday and Friday nights, the Megaplier is drawn. From a pool of 15 balls, five are marked with 2X, six with 3X, three with 4X and one with 5X.
