THE 2024 Jeopardy! Masters has crowned its new champion.

Victoria Groce beat out Yogesh Raut and James Holzhauer in the finals, meaning she took home the $500,000 grand prize, a glitzy Alex Trebek trophy, and the title of Jeopardy! Masters Champion.

Ahead of the long-awaited finale, host Ken Jennings told KABC-TV why Victoria and Yogesh are worthy opponents for last year's champion James, who is the self-proclaimed "final boss" of the show.

"The shock of the Masters is these players that we didn't know very well are playing at or above his level," Ken said about James.

"We have three James Holzhauer-level geniuses slugging it out tonight."

In an ironic twist, James came in third place behind Victoria and Yogesh during the finale - and sang "final boss death music" after his third-place score of $38,017 was read out.

Many fans theorized that viewers were becomingtired of several tournamentsbeing aired, and begged producers to go back to basics.

"It’s clear there’s heavy tournament fatigue based on the near-daily posts on social media and Reddit. I’d bet that’s the culprit," agreed a second.

"Tournament fatigue as well as fatigue of seeing the same contestants over and over," added a third.

"It's not new and novel like it was last year," a final commenter lamented.
